Democritus University of Thrace

Democritus University of Thrace (DUOT)is among the best Greek universities, as a result of the quality of its teaching and research programs. DUOT has participated in several EU-funded programs, such as the 7th Framework Program (27 actions, of which 4 MSCA), Horizon 2020 (11 actions, 2 of which Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions [MSCA]), a Jean Monnet Chair, two LIFE EU actions, and several other transnational and national projects. The Medical School of DUOT comprises 56 laboratories, 32 clinics, and 30 units. Apart from its undergraduate programme, the Mecial School runs 18 MSc programmes and has numerous PhD candidates. In particular, the Department of Pulmonology and the Laboratory of Social Medicine, both belonging to theMedical School of DUOT, will be actively involved in this project.
