Dr. Jose M. Saavedra is a Professor at the Department of Sports Science and the Director of Physical Activity, Physical Education, Sport, and Health Research Centre of RU. He received his PhD in Sports Science from University of A Coruña, Spain, in 2002. He has more than 20 years of experience within higher education institutions. He has published 92 peer-reviewed papers, 62 of which are in Journal Citation reports. He is/was the Principal Investigator or researcher in 30 research projects. He has supervised six PhD students and 20 MSc students. His main research area is sports science, physical activity and health.
