Katholieke Universiteit Leuven -KU Leuven (KUL)is the largest university hospital in Belgium, with almost 10,000 employees, where patients can count on specialised care and innovative treatments, combined with humane attention and respect for every person. It is also the partner of the Biomedical Sciences Group of the Leuven University in Belgium (KU Leuven). Together with the faculties of the Group of Biomedical Sciences, it provides training programmes in all fields of medicine. Extensive postgraduate programs offer continued education in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and rehabilitation.
The sleep lab of KUL at the Department of Pneumology) is a state-of-the-art sleep lab facility with 10 rooms for in-hospital PSG. About 70 PSG are performed every week, including diagnostic sleep studies, PAP titration studies and noninvasive ventilation titration studies. The sleep lab is run by a multidisciplinary team including 2 ESRS-accredited somnologists and 3 ESRS-accredited sleep technologists. Currently more than 6,000 patients are in active follow-up for CPAP treatment. The sleep lab has active research collaborations with the Engineering department of KU Leuven and the Neurology and Physiotherapy department of KUL.
