São João Universitary Hospital Center

Centro Hospitalar e Universitário São João (CHUSJ) is a tertiary university hospital and a leading clinical and research Portuguese centre. It is the biggest hospital in Portugal when it comes to daily number of inpatients and outpatients. The Respiratory Physiopathology, Sleep, and Non-Invasive Ventilation Lab is part of the Pulmonology Department and has five pulmonology specialists, 9 respiratory physiologists and sleep technicians, and two respiratory physiotherapists. The lab works in a multidisciplinary manner with regular meeting with other specialties (Neurology, Palliative Care, ENTs, Stomatology, Psychiatry, and Nutrition) and using predefined algorithms and workflows for each pathology.
